Actually, I initially tried to find a way to do that but was unable to (lobby setup is pretty quirky). However, I'm now planning for the next patch (which will come out tomorrow) to reflect lobby teams by defulat. When you enter the "Choose Your Team" menu you'll be on the same team as in the lobby and you'll have the option of changing. I think that teams being able to join a game and being sure of their team not getting separated will be good for the game.
