What's Coming for HOTS
Hey there! With HOTS's release, I'll be working on adding some new elements to the game. I wanted to let you guys know what's high on my list of priorities and what I'm aiming to release for the next patch.
First off, I want to release two new maps--one for team games and one for FFA. The team games map will have "lanes"--ie vertical-running reflective walls , similar to the Little Map but more pronounced. The FFA map will be circular and have an open center--no obstacles or anything--and then reflective walls.
Also, I'll be adding some new units. The Viper is a must, and I'm thinking of adding in the Oracle and Swarmhost (honestly I'm having trouble thinking of ideas for the SH, so please share if you come up with anything cool!).
This of course means the next update will use HOTS dependencies, meaning players without HOTS won't be able to play it. That being said, I'll release a "finalized" WOL version for WOL players, but it won't be continuously updated like the HOTS version. It's a shame to have to split it up like that, but it's the only way to add new HOTS art/units/tilesets/features to the game.
Features-wise, I still plan on adding a "pass" ability and unlockable competitive perks, as well as the ability to change the angle of the camera (which has been requested by several people). I'll also be looking into fixing the unit deselect bug, the hotkey bug, and some bugs with Elimination mode.

Also on the side I want to let you guys know that updates will be (and have been) coming slower now that I'm working full-time in real life. StarDodgeBall was created by a long stretch of unemployment, so there's no way I can match my previous speed of adding new content and bug fixes. That being said, I still want to see the game grow and thrive, so I will be adding as much as I can with the time that I have.

You are willing to split the map's popularity? I would strongly suggest on staying on WoL.

Yeah, it's a really tough decision. On the one hand i'd hate to split the game's popularity, but on the other hand i'd love to be able to add the new HOTS units and models.
Right now I don't have HOTS and am planning on releasing some more features in WOL. I'll be getting HOTS in about a month's time so I'll see what people think then. We'll also be able to see how many people have HOTS and how many would be alienated if I do split it up.
