Passive Perks
I think perks should work like this:
You choose 2 perks in the beginning of the game
One offensive and one defensive
The offensive ones go hand in hand with the look of your dodgeball.
For example, you can tell if someone has the +1 power perk if their dodgeball is a square (just as an example)
For the defensive perks it could be some sort of aura or some sort of visual defensive thing.

Re: Passive Perks
A neat idea, but let me go ahead and give my reason for not wanting to do it your way. To me, the perk system is more of a "customization" thing than anything else. I don't really want players to have to decide between the dodgeball shape they like and the passive that they want. Does that make sense?
In the end I would love for each player to get to customize their unit by picking the dodgeball shape they want, with a death explosion they like, and then one or two passives that complement their playstyle.

Re: Passive Perks
That's a pretty interesting idea. Each ball having a passive perk of its own gets a +1 from me!

Yeah I just like that it is a good visual confirmation so you can react to what your opponents get. For example if you saw that a reaper didn't get a +1 health perk then you could intentionally focus him down to get more kills. You know what i mean? But you do have a point when you say the aesthetics matter to a lot of people.rut wrote:A neat idea, but let me go ahead and give my reason for not wanting to do it your way. Yeah I really hope all those things are implemented because it will make the game really fun.
