Introducing the Phoenix!
Hey there! Today I release patch 2.43, introducing the Phoenix as a playable unit and fixing a bunch of bugs (mostly the ones Zergling pointed out). I also modified the dodgeball pickup behavior to hopefully improve performance, so if you see any bugs in relation to that please let me know.
Phoenix
Difficulty: 2
Health: 1
Power: 3
Speed: 4
Offensive ability: Gravitron Sphere
Defensive ability: Booster
The Phoenix is a pretty standard "low health high speed" sort of unit. Its offensive ability launches a sphere of energy that travels through obstacles. If it hits an enemy, it lifts them into the air. While in the air, straight-traveling abilities cannot hit the unit; however, lobbed attacks can still collide with them. To escape the prison, the owner of the victim must click a dialog box multiple times, just like the Roach. The defensive ability is essentially a miniature version of the Zealot's Charge: a fast-acting boost to a target point. However, the range is much lower and it cannot push other units out of the way and doesn't give any damage reduction. On the plus side, the Phoenix can throw dodgeballs in transit and the ability's on charges instead of cooldown, meaning the Phoenix can store them up and use them in chains for massive mobility.
I find the Phoenix super fun to use and I bet you will too!
Next week I'll be trying to keep my goal of releasing a new unit every Friday intact! I have a couple ideas to choose from, but if you have any suggestions let me know!
